On Saturday, July 27, the Krewe of Grateful Gluttons invites the Midtown community to participate in its second annual Parliament of Owls, an owl-themed lantern parade in black and white and sponsored by Midtown Alliance. New this year, the parade will kick off and end in The Grove at Colony Square, Midtown’s newest urban park along the 14th Street corridor.

Participating owls are invited to gather in The Grove beginning at 8 p.m. and the parade will take flight with the Black Sheep Ensemble at 9 p.m. The owls will fly across Peachtree Street and follow a 0.6 mile route around Midtown. Parade attire is black and white.

After the neighborhood march, the flock will return to its nest in The Grove at Colony Square where the party will continue at Establishment with bites and beverages available for purchase.

Leading up to the event, the parade’s creator and head of the Krewe of Grateful Gluttons Chantelle Rytter will host workshops at Colony Square for the community to join and craft their own owl lanterns. Upcoming workshop dates include July 20, 24 and 25. Interested participants can register for the workshops here. Colony Square will also host a free owl mask making workshop during its live music series Groovin’ in the Grove on July 19 and 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Owl lantern kits will also be for sale.

Guests are encouraged to share their experience on social media using the hashtags #CSReimagined. For more information about the Parliament of Owls, visit: colonysquaremidtown.com/events/parliament-of-owls-midtown-atlanta-lantern-parade-2019/.
